2. Trade it
Many website owners have built up sources of people who want to hear from them again and who gave their email addresses. The owners of these lists or streams of traffic may be willing to advertise your site to their contacts, if they get rewarded for it.
It's a matter of negotiation to see what you can get and what you have to give. You may be able to trade your link on their site for their link on yours (reciprocal linking) or including their site in a mailing to the contacts that you have. Or you may just pay them a commission, which may be a good investment if it's a powerful endorsement for you.
3. Keep'em coming back for more
It's so much more cost-effective to work on the warm prospects, the ones who already came to your site at least once. When you understand that most people have to be asked several times before they get their credit cards out to buy, you'll see how important this is.
At that initial visit to your site, make it attractive for them to sign up to your mailing list. Offer them regular, relevant information in the subject that interests them. Do it with emailings of a course related to what you're offering or with a newsletter. And use these tactics to keep building your presence in their mind, guiding them towards the buying decision that is right for them.
