Internet Marketing Solution Offered:

If You Want A High ROI Dont Play The Standard PPC Game
By: Sophia George

PPC advertising is getting increasingly more competitive, expensive and stricter. If you want to be successful with these systems, you'd have to understand how they work. Employing all the old tricks won't be enough to beat your competition. Here are a few things you can do to ensure more bang for your buck.

Combine both free and paid Keyword Research Tools.

My Recommendation has always been wordtracker. While Google AdWords keyword tool and overture are good starting points, they don't provide nearly enough variety on your root keywords and don't analyze all the metrics needed for a successful campaign. But combining both of them will ensure that keywords overlooked in one research tool can be found in another. If you don't believe me, try this out for yourself. You'll be surprised that they all don't give you the same variations on popular keywords.

Popular Keywords Don't Equal High Conversion rates.

Very Important. Just because a keyword is popular, or has a high average search volume does not necessarily mean that it will convert into customers for you. Understand that keywords which drive the most traffic are usually broad and not relevant or targeted enough for your website. Learn to eliminate wasteful clicks by weeding out general keywords. Be Specific. Use Exact Match and Phrase Match.

A person, for example, with a web hosting website would naturally have web hosting as their most popular keyword, but not all people typing web hosting in the search engine want to purchase a plan today. Some might want to just browse, while others want reviews.

Use Negative Keywords as Much as possible.

Compose a list of keywords you think will hurt your conversion rate, and eliminate them from showing your ads when they are searched for. Some great examples of this would be the word free or cheap. You don't want time wasters to arrive at your landing page, you want real buyers ready to make a purchase.

Write a Killer Ad Copy.

This is Key. With so much competition out there, please don't be standard. What do i mean by that? don't sound boring. Catch the viewer's attention. The common ad format is to have the first line state the product's benefit and the second, the product's main feature. All sponsored links in the first page of search results incorporate this. But few catch your eye. Be one of them. Always include your keyword in the title.

Research your competition's landing page on all your high converting keywords. Do this only for the first page results. Look through all the sponsored listings and observe their landing page. If their at the top, observe their page design, see what your lacking. On the flipside, if their page is poorly designed and content is thin, take advantage of that, by developing a better page. The hope is that the customer moves onto a better site, hopefully yours.

Include Price if possible in your ad copy.

This tells the customer your service is not free, and he'd have to be ready to pay. This brings in more quality clicks.

Spit-test your ads as much as possible.

This gives you information on what's working and what's not for your advertising campaign. You'd be surprised how much this can teach you.

The Key to PPC success is Relevancy Relevancy Relevancy.

Think of PPC as a story from beginning to end, with each piece leading smoothly to another. Writing a killer ad copy is not enough, if your customer is annoyed or dissatisfied with your landing page. Your job is to successfully take the customer from keyword search-to your ad copy-to landing page in one smooth session. This won't happen if your ad copy says one thing and your landing page says another. The ad copy should tell the customer exactly what the landing page is going to be about. Include the same title that you use for ad copy on your landing page, if possible. You have to give the customer a pleasant experience. Don't have pop-ups or ads all over the place. REMEMBER, most quality PPC programs especially Google AdWords have a quality score. The more relevant your ads are to the customer, the lesser you'll eventually end up paying, the more traffic you'll drive and the higher your ads will display on the search results. All of this leads to higher conversion rates.

Use Long Tail Keywords and misspelt keywords.

As part of your campaign incorporate both long tail keywords and misspelt keywords. The idea is the longer the keyword, the more unique it is, bringing in lesser advertising competition, resulting in lower bids, while not compromising on the quality/relevancy of the traffic. The same can be argued for misspelt keywords. While you may have lower search volume with this strategy, you are sure to be among the only dominant ads displayed.

You can Lower Bids By Targeting Specific Websites.

This is truely a hidden gem if you know what your doing. This is what the pros mean whey they talk about getting expensive keywords for dirt cheap. Google AdWords allows you to directly advertise on highly ranked search engine websites. Not all websites give you this option, but many do. These websites generate a lot of traffic, and are very cheap to advertise on. Keep in mind though, that the quality of the traffic isn't necessarily as good as their search network. So use this trick carefully.

2nd tier and 3rd tier ppc programs are a decent option.

Its not a bad idea to check these out, some are much cheaper than top-tier programs like Google and yahoo. But always set up channels to test each of these networks, as the traffic quality varies from program to program. Also look for ones that have geo-targeting. This is very important. You want to target english speaking countries like U.S. Canada U.K. If you want to do more research, you could check out keywordcountry.com that lets you see which country is best suited for the keywords you want to bid on.

I hope all these tips help you to succeed at PPC . Some of them, i am sure you already now. Good Luck!
